Response

The furor over Rob Bell's questions about a literal hell seems to have died down a bit.  It has certainly generated a lot of conversation about the topic of where each of us will spend eternity.

Tonight I came across a video created by Francis Chan, a minister I have a lot of respect for.  He is writing a book in which he "tackles the reality of hell, and the way we view the areas of God's Word and actions that we might not agree with." 

I felt like I should share this with you, as well as ask that you join me in praying for him as he completes this project.

So glad you shared this. Francis Chan and David Platt are to me, two young men God is using greatly to share His message to the world.

Monica, the thing that blesses me the most about this video is Francis Chan's gentle, yet bold way of saying, "What makes us think we know better than God?" Many of us (me included for sure) have at one point created a graven image of God of our own liking rather than honoring the true revelation of who He is as shown in the Bible. Regrettably, we open our Bible with that little graven image, and we interpret what we read through our understanding of what we've created.

Pieces of clay teaching other pieces of clay who the Potter is. A good reminder of who we are.
